clamdscan software package provides anti-virus utility for Unix - scanner client, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install clamdscan
clamdscan is installed in your system.
Make ensure the clamdscan package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep clamdscan *
You will get with clamdscan package name, version, architecture and description in a table
